Between the sedan and the coupe, you have the options of several trims and different engines providing you with the optimum combination of efficiency and power. What Is New for 2017 Honda Accord

If you are familiar with previous year's models, you will have a good idea of what to expect from the 2017. You still have the option of two body styles: the coupe and the sedan. Between these two styles, there are several trims offering progressively more advanced safety and comfort features as you select upper levels. The 2017 model adds the Sport Special Edition above the Sport trim and below the EX trim. This model offers the same engine as the Accord Sport and builds by adding more features from there. The Special Edition badge brings extra style to the exterior while the red-stitched leather seats make the interior luxurious and comfortable. You will also have the 6-speed manual and CVT available with this trim, as with the Sport. Other than the newest trim, all other 2017 models saw only a modest price increase of $150, making the latest version of the Accord very budget-friendly. After its hiatus for 2016, the Accord Hybrid is available once again for 2017. This extremely efficient model allows drivers to enjoy the comfort of the Accord with some of the highest efficiency in its class.

Take a Look Back at the Honda Accord's History

Even when it first appeared in 1976, the Honda Accord was very popular with drivers. Part of this was thanks to the fact it was introduced as fuel efficient and hit the market when there was an energy crisis. When it initially came out, it had a 4-cylinder, 1.6-liter engine that put out 68-horsepower standard and the hatch had a remote release. A rear-window defroster and AM/FM stereo also came as standard features. In 1976, it came on a 93.7-inch wheelbase and was only available as a two-door model. In 1978, the LX trim was added, and in 1982 a second generation arrived. Over the years, the Accord continued to grow, offering more space as it did so. In 2008, with the 8th generation, the wheelbase was 16.5 inches longer than when it was first introduced and this year's model has a 192.5 inch wheelbase, providing ample room and style.
